How to get rid of cellulite?
Cellulite… maybe the most horrible word for all the women, or better saying for 90% of the women in the world.
Is it harmful? NO
Is it stressful? YES
Does it look pretty? NO
Can you get rid of it? Of course YES
But what is cellulite?
Cellulite is a localized skin condition that causes a dimpled appearance on the surface of the skin (abdomen, hips, legs, buttocks). You might imagine cellulite as a bunch of tiny fat-filled balloons caught between layers of tissue that are connected by large rubber bands.
Cellulite exists in different grades:
- Zero Grade – Smooth surface of skin while lying down and standing. No dimpling when pressure is applied.
- First Grade – smooth skin while laying down and standing, dimpling when pressure is applied.
- Second Grade – smooth skin while laying down, but some dimpling appears while standing;
- Third Grade – dimpling appears when laying down or standing.
What causes cellulite?
There is not known the exact cause of cellulite, but there are a lot of factors linked to it:
- Hormonal factors and age – estrogen, insulin, noradrenalin, thyroid hormones and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process. A low level of estrogen means lower blood flow to the connective tissue, lower level of oxygen, lower collagen production and higher number of fat cells.
With the age, the skin becomes less elastic, thinner and more likely to sag. This increases the chance of cellulite.
- Genetic factors – can be linked to a person’s metabolism, distribution of fats, ethnicity ecc.
- Dietary and lifestyle factors – people who eat a lot of carbohydrates, fats, salt are more likely to have greater amounts of cellulite.
- Smokers, people who do not exercise, those who sit or stand in the same position for a long time tend to have cellulite.
- Pregnancy – during pregnancy you may notice for the first time signs of cellulite. Is something that happens often.
How to reduce cellulite?
We can’t go back in time. We can’t change our age or the difference in our skin while ageing, but we can change and improve a lot of factors that cause cellulite.
First of all: THE FOOD
Avoid fuzzy drinks and drink a lot of water (1.5 l per day). Don’t use too much oil and don’t eat fry foods. Instead eat vegetables and fruits. Please do not starve…
The second thing: Exercises
Find a little time on your daily routine to exercise. You may go to the gym, you may run, do exercises at home, you may ride a bike. You may do a lot of things. Choose what you prefer more and do it.
The third thing to do: Use pharmaceutical products
The first thing we all do is go to a pharmacy and take an anti-cellulite cream. They help to reduce cellulite. The use of topical creams tights the skin. The skin becomes smoother and firmer. One ingredient found in almost all the creams is caffeine. It works by increasing the blood flow to the area and works as a diuretic.
Nowadays other than the creams people are using leggings to reduce cellulite. Is an effective method that does not require any commitment or effort.
When the use of topical creams at home is not enough, then you should seek medical advice.
Let’s mention some procedures that help to reduce cellulite:
- Cryolipolysis – is a noninvasive procedure, which removes cellulite by freezing the fat cells beneath the skin. This causes the fat cells to rupture and their contents to be absorbed by the body.
- Ultrasound – is a noninvasive procedure, which uses sound waves to target and eliminate fat in the abdomen and thighs.
- Cellfino – a noninvasive procedure. A needle is used to break up the tough bands under the skin and to get rid of cellulite.
- Carboxytherapy – a procedure that infuses CO2 under the skin to increase blood circulation and increase collagen production. It can be performed anywhere in the body.
