Trifene Oral Suspension contains 20mg/ml ibuprofen as its active substance. Relieves mild to moderate pain and lowers fever. Recommended for children aged 3 months or older, with body weight over 5 kg, adolescents and adults.ContraindicationsDo not take this medicine if you:-are allergic to ibuprofen, any of the components of the suspension, or other anti-inflammatory products commonly used for pain or fever relief; -have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; -have an active peptic ulcer/haemorrhage or have a history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage; -have severe heart failure or have severe liver or kidney failure; -are in the last three months of your pregnancy; -are significantly dehydrated; -have blood disorders; -have chronic alcoholism;-have red blood cell disorders of an unknown cause; -your child is under the age of 3 months or weighs less than 5 kg.As all the other medicines, ibuprofen has side effects. Children doses should be calculated using body weight. The following list shows an example of a usual dosage. Dosages can be changed according to medical prescription.-3 to 6 months (~5-7 kg) - 5 mg (2.5 ml), 3 times a day.-6 months to 1 year (~7-1 kg) - 5 mg (2.5 ml), 3 to 4 times daily.-1 to 4 years (~1-16 kg) - 1 mg (5 ml), 3 times a day.-4 to 7 years (~16-25 kg) - 15 mg (7.5 ml), 3 times a day.-7 to 1 years (~25-32 kg) - 2 mg (1 ml), 3 times a day.-1 to 12 years (~25-4 kg) - 3 mg (15 ml), 3 times a day.Although other pharmaceutical forms of ibuprofen are generally used for adults (e.g. ibuprofen 2 mg, 4 mg or 6 mg tablets), when swallowing, Trifene can be administered at a dose of 15 ml to 2 ml (equivalent to 3 mg to 4 mg, respectively) 3 to 4 times a day.
