This medication contains an antitussive:
codeine.
It is indicated to soothe dry coughs and irritating coughs in adults.
Do not take Pulmoserum:
-if you are allergic to any of the constituents;
-if you are being treated with sodium oxybate (medicine used in the treatment of narcolepsy) ,-if your cough is related to asthma,-if you have respiratory failure,-if you know that your body metabolizes codeine very quickly into morphine,-if you are breastfeeding.
In general, codeine is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age, due to an increased risk of serious adverse effects that may occur.
Furthermore, codeine is not recommended for adolescents with impaired respiratory function.
Drinking alcoholic beverages is not recommended during treatment with Pulmoserum.
Pregnancy and breastfeedingIt is possible to take this medicine during your pregnancy, provided that it is for a short time (a few days) and without exceeding the recommended doses.
However, at the end of pregnancy, excessive use of this medicine can have a harmful effect on the newborn.
Therefore, always seek the advice of your doctor before taking this medication and never exceed the recommended dose.
If you discover that you are pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor as only he can judge the need to continue this treatment.
Do not take Pulmoserum oral solution while you are breastfeeding.
Codeine and morphine pass into breast milk.
This is an OTC medicine, so it can be taken without a doctor's recommendation.

As an indication, in the absence of other medicinal intake providing codeine or any other central antitussive, the usual dose of Pulmoserum oral solution in adults is 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 ml) per dose to be renewed after 6 hours if necessary, without exceeding the dose of 8 tablespoons per day.
